iphoneguy 178x300 Funniest iPhone costume

Seen at the Valley Fair Apple Store here in the Bay Area, some guy’s protesting Apple for the pain they costed him while wearing a homemade iPhone costume that looked like a 12 year old designed.  Did your mom help you make that costume, sir? Because you should really ask her for help—she’d be able to pick out a nicer typeface and better looking icons. Best of luck to your cause, whatever it is.

Apple shouldnt worry says the analyst. Check out what they had to say.

So both phones aim to bring the smartphone features to the fans, Google simply provides the OS and a developer’s SDK; handset manufacturers are free to license the OS for their hardware if they choose, similar in that respect to Symbian or Windows Mobile. Apple, on the other hand, makes the OS and the hardware, and developers must submit their apps for review before being allowed to distribute via the App Store. (more…)

utorrent mac 300x187 uTorrent’s Mac Client now leaked

Good news for mac users. It seems the leakage of a new torrent app has came to the apple nation. And well needed as we are limited on torrent apps as it is. Can’t be good news for the movie industry. They’ll get over it.. maybe, hopefully? Either way the infamous smallest fingerprint torrent client has came to the apple nation. Check out what the pros say about the release, well leak actually.

An early Alpha release of the long awaited Mac version of the popular BitTorrent client uTorrent has leaked to the public. The application is still in development, but most features seem to work just fine. As expected, the application looks very Mac-like, and better than its Windows counterpart.

iphone 113 hack 300x300 Top ten reasons to jailbreak your iPhone

Jailbreaking an iPhone seems like it would be a long, arduous process.  That’s quite the contrary, as it’s very simple to do, especially with tools such as QuickPwn Mac, Windows, and Pwnage Tool Mac, Windows.

A jailbroken device can provide much more functionality than a standard iPhone.  There are a number of exceptional Apps that are not available through the iTunes App Store, but through Cydia and Installer, both of which are accessible through jailbroken iPhones.

Below are ten Apps we think are worth jailbreakng your iPhone for.  We based our selections on the following criteria: (more…)

iPhone Developer Steve Demeter Made $250K From Apple Store

trism iPhone Developer Steve Demeter Made $250K From Apple Store

Steve Demeter, a developed. The developer that created the iPhone puzzle game “Trism” as a side project, but now he’s quitting his normal 9-5. Why you ask? Because he says he’s generated $250,000 in profits since he started selling the $4.99 game on iTunes this recent summer. That’s after Apple (AAPL) has taken its ridiculous 30% cut of total sales, and after subtracting his initial investment of about $5,000.
So while we’ve heard plenty of griping from developers who complain about Apple’s restrictive grip on its store, you’re certainly not going to hear Steve joining that chorus. In fact, he says, he’s so pleased with Apple, that he’s going to work exclusively with them, and will pass on the chance to work on other platforms, like Google’s Android.
Why did he cut himself off from other markets? In part, because he’s doing just fine with Apple. But Steve also says that Google’s strategy of distributing its OS to multiple manufacturers who will create multiple handset models will actually cause him more headaches than its worth.
“Do I want to be spending 6 months to write the game, and another 6 months making it compatible? If I had Trism available for Android, and there are 50 Android devices and every time one of them crashes (the users) contact me, do I want that?”

So if he’s not expanding to the other mobile platforms, what is Steve going to do with his new found wealth? He says he’s actively looking to hire more people – engineers and artists specifically. While he started off on his own, he now has four more people working for him in San Francisco, working on 5 more iPhone games.

Im a PC and I design on a mac

pasted graphic 1 10 300x160 Im a PC and I design on a mac

So AppleInsider reports findings of Metadata that exposes the new PC parody commercial actually being made on a Mac.

Metadata that was found on Microsoft’s creative copy used in its ‘I’m a PC’ ad reveals that the graphics were actually produced using Macs running Adobe Creative Suite 3. After the details were published on the Flickr photo sharing site, Microsoft scrambled to polish off the embarrassing details last night

Microsoft’s new ad features contrasts a “stereotyped PC user” dressed up like John Hodgman in Apple’s Get a Mac ads with a number of people who say, “I’m a PC” apparently to affirm that they run Windows.

However, not even Microsoft itself can wean itself off the Mac, as the metadata discovered by Flickr user LuisDS points out. Microsoft was not only using Macs but also Adobe’s software in place of its own Expressions Studio, which the company bills as software that “takes your creative possibilities to a new level.

Friday, September 19th, 2008

In an email to customers Thursday, the Cupertino-based company informed online shoppers in the UK that delivery of 16GB iPod nanos originally slated to arrive between September 17th and 22nd won’t ship until the 25th. They’re now scheduled to land on customers’ doorsteps “on or before” September 29th.

“Please note that these dates are estimated lead-times only. Once your order has dispatched, you will receive a Dispatch Notification email, which will provide you with detailed delivery information,” Apple wrote. “Your business is very important to us, and we apologise for any inconvenience that this change may cause.” (more…)

Apple’s latest DRM will restrict your wardrobe!

Authorized Garment

Apple’s latest DRM will restrict your wardrobe
You’ve heard, of course, of digital rights management – used to control how you play, copy or otherwise use media files like music.

Now Apple wants to apply that concept to your sporting wardrobe. In US patent application 2008/0218310, the company details a way to stop us using unauthorised training shoes with the in-sole sensors it sells as part of the Nike + iPod kit. The shoe sensors work as pedometers, sending the data to your iPod as you run.

Apple’s patent explains that “some people have taken it upon themselves to remove the sensor from the special pocket of the Nike shoe and place it in inappropriate locations – shoelaces, for example – or place it on non-Nike shoes”.

They seem to consider this beyond the pale. The patent details a way of “pairing a sensor and an authorised garment”, such as “running shoes, shirts or slacks”. Companies like Nike could authorise their garments by burying an RFID chip inside it. That chip is required to activate the sensor. No longer will you be able to use the sensor you paid for with any shoe of your choosing.

Apple’s idea sounds mean-minded to me. What do you think?

The company has previous form, though. Last year they tried to patent a system that would prevent you from recharging a music player if you ever use it with unauthorised software.
