Do you like to customize your iPhone or iPod Touch as I do. Here is a screenshot of my iPhone and if you look at the top left it says “Joe” is my carrier. That’s me. I get a little tired of constantly being reminded who my carrier is so when I found the App “Make it Mine“ and realized the app would allow me to customize my status bar I gave it a try. The app is only for Jailbreak Apps of course so just another reason to jailbreak already! To find this app go into your local jailbreak store and Search Make It Mine. The developer is Erica Sadun, a very talented coder who has also provided these great apps for the community.

As if it was not hard enough being a developer. With Apple demanding those steep 30% commission charges. The newest contract agreement between developers and Apple has been modified to now force 90 day customer refunds. Here is the contract clause:
In the event that Apple receives any notice or claim from any end-user that: (i) the end-user wishes to cancel its license to any of the Licensed Applications within ninety (90) days of the date of download of that Licensed Application by that end-user; or (ii) a Licensed Application fails to conform to Your specifications or Your product warranty or the requirements of any applicable law, Apple may refund to the end-user the full amount of the price paid by the end-user for that Licensed Application. In the event that Apple refunds any such price to an end-user, You shall reimburse, or grant Apple a credit for, an amount equal to the price for that Licensed Application. Apple will have the right to retain its commission on the sale of that Licensed Application, notwithstanding the refund of the price to the end.
Thats great news for the customers, we can now try apps and then return it. For developers this is not good.. Now they may want to wait 3 months before spending that cash. The main concern here though is that it may deter developers. Who wants to get hammered with a 30% commission and then have to wait 3 months to spend the 70% you do get. I dont know if this is smart of Apple. This may just increase more 3rd party jailbreak app stores.

Yes this image is from China Unicom‘s official website.. It is finally official, China Unicom has won Exclusive rights to the Apple iPhone 3g. We heard many rumors on the battle between the two Chinese cellphone service providers China Unicom and China Mobile on whom would get the exclusive rights. Earlier this month a spokesman for China Unicom did hint at a release of numerous handset devices including the Android G1 which also does appear on the site as well. Check it out if you know chinese, and you can tell us what it says. We just know “iPhone” and saw the image and knew it was offiicial.

So we have been noticing a lot of criticism over the web on the new 3rd Gen iPod Shuffle. There is no need for such a small device you say? It has no buttons on it, its horrible!! Well if you did not know the Shuffle 2nd gen was quite successful in sales. Does this mean the 3rd gen. will not be able to fill the same shoes? Lets start.
Apple did mention something about an iProd feature that will be your personal trainer and nutritionist. What does the term iProd come from? Well British publications coined the term as a “bitchy trainer” which is rather scary.. Prior Apple did file a patent on an iPod touch personal trainer that tracks your fitness level and schedules. Personalized workouts, nutrition and health questions answered and heart-rate and motion monitors through sensors to track your workouts. And if you get lazy and miss a workout, it bitches at you. Which is where I think the “iProd” name comes into play.

Everyday I find another reason to tease my co-workers for still not jailbreaking their iPhone. Today’s reason is the app, iBlacklist. I went ahead and gave it a try today thanks to Cydia. Very clean, and easy to use app.
Functions:
Just as it sounds, you can blacklist certain people from calling when iBlacklist app is activated. This comes in handy when you don’t want your multiple lovers to know about each other. The options are really awesome once you get in. First off you create a blacklist group. Lets say I create the “Annette” blacklist group. The people added in this list are the people I want blocked when I am with Annette. Even more options inside each blocked person. I can choose to make it go straight to Voicemail or use a busy signal, or Accept and hang up, or just ring when the blocked contact calls. There is also a Whitelist area, where you can add certain users you want to get through during iblacklist activation. That is more for intricate use of enabling two groups of contacts to coincide.
Now to use more advanced options such as multiple active lists you will need to purchase the full version on the homepage via PayPal for $12.99. Not to bad, but I have been doing fine with the demo version which allows you to use one Active List at a time with two blocked contacts at once. Thats all I need. If you are juggling more than 3 lovers than you definitely need a full version and maybe even a STD and HIV check also.

Yes, you could already purchase HD shows in the Appstore. Also yes, you can rent HD movies. The news is that you can PURCHASE HD movies now though. The HD Movies will only cost $19.99, which is a deal when you think of the cost it is to go buy Blu-Rays for $34.99. The only downside is if you are a real HD expert you may see a slight difference as iTunes movies put out 720p, well Blu-Ray puts out the slightly better 1080p. Honestly I cannot tell the difference really and I am not willing to pay the extra $15. Looks like online media is doing well and with Appple on the front lines again.
