AMD Catalyst 11.3 Released

Nvidia wasn’t the only one that released new drivers. AMD also released the 11.3 version of Catalyst for all their GPU’s. According to the release notes, OpenCL runtime is now enabled by default within AMD Catalyst. As a result of this, applications that leverage OpenCL for GPU based compute tasks will automatically benefit from the significant performance boost that this provides. Among the various performance boosts, these latest Catalyst drivers resolve some issues the random crashes of Shift under Windows XP, no laggy performance when playing 720P WMV video files under Windows 7 and World of Warcraft no longer fails to respond when alt-tabbing out and into the game when running on the AMD HD6990 under Windows Vista.
