Street Fighter Versus Tekken

Yes, first it was Sonic the Hedgehog sleeping with Mario, then it was RPG Companies fighting the good fight with action/arcade guys (Namco Bandai) and as history and the internet brings one big jumbled melting pot of technological insanity the past inconceivable has been done!

This is Street Fighter VS Tekken. I mean you really can call it a ton of things. Capcom has called it Street Fighter X Tekken for I guess not to seem like they are “versing the world” (can I say that..lol) but it seems that it’s already in production and there’s not a thing you can do about it!

So for those looking to sleep with your sisters, here it is:

The Street Fighter Versus Tekken or SF Vs Tekken, or Street Fighter VS Tekken..take your pick

At Press Time, Yoshinori Ono said that the game will available on BOTH the XBOX 360 and PS3! (I guess he didn’t want to get murdered on stage if that was less than the case!) so fanboys be not hesitant to heavily scrutinize the game because it will be a 2D style fighter just like Super Street Fighter 4.

…wait (I hear small sobs from Tekken enthusiasts!) there is more.

It just so happens that this cross-over will be a little more than just “another licensing” cash cleanup but instead it was announced that Tekken X Street Fighter is also in development at Namco! So I imagine this will version of the title will be more geared towards the Tekken stylized gameplay and graphics.

Okay Classic Heads,

I know this is the moment many have been waiting for! Should we be doing the Retro Dance? Should we fork over more loot for another 3 in 1 game system console? Should we be intimidated by the odd space-ship like design that looks like it came from Planet Retron (most likely a Star Trek episode!) ?

I try to answer as many questions on the Retron3 that I can possibly fit into an almost 11 minute video. From start to finish we work over the unit to see what type of staying potential it has. So without any further hesitation, let’s cut the fat off the RetroN3 and see if it will earn a place on my classic gaming shelf!

Viola. there you have it. That’s basically the system in a nutshell (well or in 11 minutes). Not a bad clone attempt, not flawless by any means but not bad. The one thing I have to say is that you don’t want to even touch those controllers as they look so pretty in the box…and that’s where they should stay! But honestly, why would you want to use those things anyway if you had all those ports on it anyways?

We’ll keep testing the Retron 3 and post any new findings that we come across in the forums, so until next time.

Howdy doody, gamers!  Nintendo’s big upcoming handheld, the Nintendo 3DS is hitting it big here at E3!  Lines have gone on for hours just for a sneak peak at the yet-to-be-released portable.  3D is all the rage these days, but everyone complains about those darn cumbersome glasses.  The Nintendo 3DS promises to do away with them completely… can it deliver?

Seems like the big developers and publishers think so.  With the consoles release date almost a year away, Nintendo has already accumulated a rather hefty list of first and third party contributers to the 3DS’ title library.

XBOX360 Slim Images and Speca

Yes, you are seeing correctly!

This is the new XBOX 360 Slim system. Unofficially unannounced by Microsoft, however this has been pulled straight from online advertisements Pre-E3 show. As I had expected one of the “Big 3″ (Microsoft, Nintendo, Sony) was bound to drop the bomb! Though from what we have been seeing, the unit has basically only been cosmetically redesigned touting no new specs outside of a built in WiFi adapter and a 250 Gig hard drive (Which in all honesty is still nothing special!)

Jeri Ryan, who played Sonya Blade in the Mortal Kombat: Rebirth short film tweeted some very important tweets about this short film:

“Okay, so… Mortal Kombat. It’s not a game trailer. Actually was made for the director to sell WB on his vision for a reimagined MK film.”

“No idea yet what WB’s reaction to it was.”

So, it turns out this could be a new Mortal Kombat movie. Can Warner Brothers get their heads out of the sand and make this? Only time will tell. One thing we can tell you: Jeri Ryan is still hot. Rawr!

My take on this: If this movie does get made (and it will, WB needs a new franchise) it won’t be nearly as violent as the short film. The only way that WB could fill seats with this movie would be making a PG13 movie. Their main demographic is going to be teen males and they can’t have an R rating and still be successful with it. But, look out for an unrated DVD!

This just in gamers.  Yesterday, a big-budget, big-name promo video dropped on YouTube.  Rumors abound as to the actual source of the video, as well as it’s purpose.  Checka check it out:

Yup…  that’s Michael Jai White and Jeri Ryan, both veterans of the geekdom movie rounds.  It kinda feels like they took Mortal Kombat and slathered some Christopher Nolan all over it, doesn’t it?  It’s basically Mortal Kombat without the supernatural.  While I’m all about keeping true to the established mythos when it comes to video game movies… this reboot one may just fly with me, hopefully.

Whatever this thing is… it’s precursor to something big.  The amount of cash put into this one definitely puts it out of the realm of fanfilm.  According to IMDb, there is a Mortal Kombat Film slated for 2013, backed by Warner Bros.  The IMDb also says that they had begun casting the project at the end of 2008.   Rumors abound!  What say you, gamers?

After all, E3 is right around the corner…
