Jeri Ryan, who played Sonya Blade in the Mortal Kombat: Rebirth short film tweeted some very important tweets about this short film:
“Okay, so… Mortal Kombat. It’s not a game trailer. Actually was made for the director to sell WB on his vision for a reimagined MK film.”
“No idea yet what WB’s reaction to it was.”
So, it turns out this could be a new Mortal Kombat movie. Can Warner Brothers get their heads out of the sand and make this? Only time will tell. One thing we can tell you: Jeri Ryan is still hot. Rawr!
My take on this: If this movie does get made (and it will, WB needs a new franchise) it won’t be nearly as violent as the short film. The only way that WB could fill seats with this movie would be making a PG13 movie. Their main demographic is going to be teen males and they can’t have an R rating and still be successful with it. But, look out for an unrated DVD!
This just in gamers. Yesterday, a big-budget, big-name promo video dropped on YouTube. Rumors abound as to the actual source of the video, as well as it’s purpose. Checka check it out:
Yup… that’s Michael Jai White and Jeri Ryan, both veterans of the geekdom movie rounds. It kinda feels like they took Mortal Kombat and slathered some Christopher Nolan all over it, doesn’t it? It’s basically Mortal Kombat without the supernatural. While I’m all about keeping true to the established mythos when it comes to video game movies… this reboot one may just fly with me, hopefully.
Whatever this thing is… it’s precursor to something big. The amount of cash put into this one definitely puts it out of the realm of fanfilm. According to IMDb, there is a Mortal Kombat Film slated for 2013, backed by Warner Bros. The IMDb also says that they had begun casting the project at the end of 2008. Rumors abound! What say you, gamers?
As always being on the forefront of classic and retro game console remakes, I am on this like Obama on “Change” and with that being said he are my first thoughts on what to expect.
Well at my first glance previous to my hands-on review the Retron 3 looks like a spaceship! It looks like it came from “Planet Retron!” The overall design does not appeal to me so much (though I am a big fan of the color red) however it’s all about what’s on the inside that counts right?
Or in this case the outside! The RetroN3 sports the ability to use and accept all 3 system controller interfaces. Yes, all 3 and that includes the original Nintendo controllers, the Super NES controllers and even the Sega Genesis controllers. This is something that the original Yobo FC3 console was totally lacking and have steered many buyers away. Also from the classic rumor trail is that this really is the same identical hardware to the FC3 (because the unit comes from the same factory as the FC3 model) so the RetroN3 will not really have any newer bells and whistles outside of it’s 3 controller port capability! And who’s not to say that even that will be flawless.

Another year, another Madden. What would life be without the constant update of the classic football game? You want to know how the world is going to end? EA is going to realize one year that they are releasing the same game over and over and just stop. The world will stop spinning and we’ll spin off into space to burn up in the atmosphere. Sounds good. Let’s hope EA doesn’t come to this realization.
