Coming off the digital presses of Twitter, the iPhone 4 has officially been broken. And we don’t mean the screen shattering because that sweet aluminum grip got slick, we mean now you can jailbreak your very own iPhone 4. Well, soon. The app hasn’t been released but it’s pretty much a guarantee.
This picture shows the iPhone 4 running on the Canadian Bell network ie. not ATT.
Stay tuned to Das Reviews and we’ll let you know when you can get your hands on this fine piece of software.
Hulu Plus unleashed its iPhone/iPad app to itunes this morning for free to sample. Not too much free content. To get into the good stuff you must get a Hulu Plus account at $10 per month. Now even with this paid subscription, you are still forced to sit through advertisement commercials. Another interesting thing is that the flash ban seems to be raised for this new app.
Curious about shedding some cash for Apples latest trendsetter? Well here is a few tips to guide you to a well informed decision. What you should know about the new iPhone 4 is the new features and how accurate their claims are.
So first off, if your AT&T or Rogers service is available for an upgrade then that should help you make the decision as it is $199 to upgrade to a 16GB iPhone 4, and $299 for an 32GB iPhone 4. If you are unavailable at this time for an upgrade, you may want to wait as it is another $100 on top of that.
The iPhone now does 5 megapixel picture with 5x digital zoom from front and back with a backside only flash LED. Now when you hear those numbers, do not assume that this will be the same quality as a Sony Cybershot 5 megapixel camera. There is much more to photography than megapixels and digital zoom. With that said, the camera is still a big improvement in quality when compared to camera phones in the market. Check out my tests taken below with iPhone 4.
The video camera now records in 720p and up to 30 fps [frames per second] and also takes advantage of the LED lighting on the front. The video quality is more then good enough to put out great videos on youtube, and we made one here to prove it. Audio quality is quite improved from prior iPhone 3G[S]
The iPhone frame is new and improved with a stainless steel frame antenna band around the phone to improve signal and better protect. There has already been two bad reports about this already though unfortunately for Apple. People are reporting that bars are lost when gripping around the phone, and the screens are cracking when dropped on the sidewalk. The screen cracks are assumed to be due to the super reinforced frame forcing the screen to take the full impact.
The processor is Apples own creation called the “A4 chip“. This mini processing beast paired with the doubled-up 512 ram improvement makes the new iPhone OS4 the most smooth phone I have used to date. Not to mention the higher retina display, as the phone sharpness is on another level now. Seamlessly, I have been switching from task to task with ease. From the net, to a phone call, to a text, to my music and so on.
The big new OS feature would have to be “FaceTime.” You now have the ability with two people with the iPhone 4 to talk and see each other simultaneously by taking advantage of the front camera lens. This of course is only possible if both users have an iPhone 4. To use, you simply go from your contact list to the friend with an iPhone 4 and press “FaceTime” and the request will be made. When they accept you will see each other.
All and all, it is not PERFECT, but it is a fairly priced product and is a big improvement from its predecessors. For what you pay (with an upgrade discount) you are getting quite the bang for your buck.
Well if you are like us and you were wondering how much this new iPhone 4 is going to be, AT&T has made it very easy to find out if you are eligible for an upgrade to the iPhone 4. Simply call *639# free of charge and you will get a text response in seconds.
You will either be told you are eligible for an upgrade, which will look like the right side screenshot above (meaning $199 for the 16GB / $299 for 32GB), or you will be available for an upgrade at the given date.
So cross your fingers and give it a call. Good luck!

As you know I am all about the fighting games. However I have never really been too keen on handheld or pocket fighters because they really never live up
Street Fighter 4 iPhone Review
to their console counterparts. Though when I heard and seen some of the previews on the new SFIV release for the iPhone I just had to do a review of it.
I am going to take one for the on-the-go fighting team and give you the unbridled hardcore no holds-barred review of the just released Street Fighter 4 for the iPhone, iPhone3G and 3GS.
Let’s take a look of what we you can expect and may or may not be missing out on.
As this is an update, from earlier we will be posting the written review first and the video shortly.
1: Control = Control? What’s that? It’s an iphone Game!
Well basically it is a “virtual arcade stick” in the left hand corner. And the buttons for the various strength of kicks is press sensitive. Something that I thought at first would not be well received but happens to turn our pretty well. Depending of course how big your fingers are. The virtual arcade stick works fairly well and was able to pull off charge specials. Not too shabby. I had a little bit of a time with the Ultra on Blanka but it the “alternative Ultra” initiation method was a nice touch for those not versed with playing with virtual controls. Combos were possible, but shaky and clean. Wakeups were totally possible and the Ultra Finishing screens make you feel like a champ!
2: Graphics & Sound = Well, that’s a big decision maker too! How do you emulate a PS3/360 game for a handheld like the Iphone and how well does it work?
Not so bad. Only 8 characters to choose from but the animations are slightly toned down (especially the background) more stable slightly washed. But totally on point for such a small game and the sound make me feel that I should attach a pair of headphones or earbuds and start jamming out. And let’s not forget the “Fight of Your Rival” announcer. Not flawless but very, very acceptable.
3: Replay Value = I actually beat it! I wanted to continue playing!! Can you believe that!? I was intrigued enough to keep playing until Bison! (Spoiler – He’s the last guy)
4: Should You Buy SF4 for iPhone? = Yes, the core audience will find it mildly entertaining and novelty to have it on the go on their phone and new comers can get a taste of the real deal action to come.

Hey gamers! Yet another of your favorite franchises is soon making it’s way to the iPhone App store! Square Enix announced that they will be releasing Final Fantasy I & II for the iPhone/iPod Touch! There will of course, be some graphical tweaks. It already looks promising, I think. Now you’ve got something to put next to Street Fighter IV on your apps screen.
No word on an exact date of release as of yet, but we’ll let you know as soon as we do! In the meantime, trailer!
It’s official, Apple’s annual announcement of new products in January continues, as the invites have started being delivered for their Jan. 27th event titled “Come see our new creation.” What can this new announcement be, I wonder? All the analyst point to one thing, a touch tablet. Apple must keep up with the new trend, which if you followed CES announcements this year, you know the new buzzword is touch tablets.
The rumors have been bubbling up for sometime now on Apple’s anticipated iTablet, and it seems to be inevitably true, as Apple has also purchased the domain iTablet.com as of recent. Now with the event titled “Come See Our New Creation“, what else could it be besides a iTablet? Any other ideas, let us know in the comment section, because we are willing to bet the house on this one.
