At first I tried this i compatibility mode (XP Service Pack 2) on (32 bit) Vista and it never worked. So as a last resort, I tried it with compatibility mode turned off, and viola! I see geohots face. It's downloading Cydia and Rock as I type this. Good developing, geohot! w00t!

Hi, i'm from Malaysia and not using AT&T or 02 (well obviously), but my iphone 3gs is originally unlocked device when i got it from my network provider.

Question now is, can i use this blackra1n to jailbreak my iphone? does it have any negative side effects? Was confused whether other users from other countries could use this jailbreaker without any harm done, as u'v stated above:

*Great, now if you are PC user with any generation of iPhone on AT&T or 02, or you are jailbreaking a iPod Touch of any generation lets begin.*

Whenever you restart it, it will show the "recovery" screen. According to Geohot's website, this is a new feature for the 3g and 3gs under the name "tethered boot". Just re-run blackra1n to boot your iPhone. Restoring it will wipe out all data so that is a no. Go to blackra1n's blog to find out more info = http://iphonejtag.blogspot.com/

Once its in recovery and you hook it back up to itunes. You need to rerun blackra1n again and it should restore your phone back to what it was before you turned it off. Sux I know. Im trying to find a solution for that on the web, if there is any :(
