Word on the net is that Google is getting ready to release a free turn by turn base app that will be FREE. That would nullify all those pricey turn based, GPS apps like Tom-Tom whom Apple bragged about in its keynotes earlier this year. This was tracked back to what the nav competitors are telling Fortune Magazine. The only catch to this free app is that it will carry ads. How many, and how annoying, we do not know.
