It looks that the prospect of the iPhone on other carriers has returned with hopeful news. A Taiwan handset supplier has allegedly leaked photos of the next-gen iPhone for Verizon to iLounge. The photo shows the new display to be shrink-ed to a smaller 2.8″ display, comparted to another new 3.2″ version also. The current models carry a bulkier 3.5″ screen size. Also, According to the Taiwanese company, the displays have “no significant” aging effect—they don’t get progressively less sensitive over time—and are claimed to be more durable than alternatives, waterproof, plus resistant to high humidities and temperatures.So is it possible that this is real?
We have a hard time believing that Apple would want us typing on an even smaller screen, not to mention the complications this would give to current apps out on the market. I suppose anything is possible, but this is very unlikely from an implementation standpoint.
[Gallery not found]What we are really excited about is the buzz about Qualcoms newest hybrid component “worldmode” which makes it possible to run a phone with both AT&T and Verizon along with other carriers worldwide.
This makes for a perfect time for Verizon to jump on board without a huge overhaul of the iPhone’s inner workings. With all the speculation going on, there is no way to tell the truth from rumors. We will update you when we get more FACTS.
