Metal Gear Rising’s Latest Trailer Comes From an Arm

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance had a live-action trailer released last week that teased an announcement coming out on the April 30th.  That teaser video was, to say the least, very confusing and made no sense, outside of knowing that it involved Raiden as that name popped up on a file in the video and, at the end, Jack is mentioned and that is Raiden’s real name.

Here it is if you missed it.

Around the same, certain game journalists out there happened to receive one of these fancy severed arms with a usb cable coming out of it.

Contained in it were various screenshots, files, and the live-action video above.  Today, a new live-action trailer for the game was revealed and… it still doesn’t reveal too much and it looks like an expanded video of the previous trailer.  What’s interesting is that in the description of this trailer, called the “Make It Right – ‘Arm'”, it tries to act like an ARG with the statement of, “First recovered video segment from agent Raiden’s severed arm.”  There’s also a hacking ARG on Metal Gear Rising’s website.  I’m sure some dedicated people out there might be able to find what’s hidden on the site, but I defiantly don’t have that dedication or time.

Sadly, while several people, including myself, was hoping for a little more juicy info involving the game, it appears we are just getting some viral marketing campaign that might, in the end, reveal something.  Perhaps there’s some hidden messages or info in that video that we all are missing, but all I’ve gotten from it is that the person we’re seeing the video through is Raiden/Jack.

Have any of you out there got anything?
