Microvolts Open Beta To Start Thursday, March 10

By on March 8, 2011

Rock Hippo Productions Ltd today announced that its cartoon-style third person shooter, MicroVolts will start its open beta this Thursday, March 10th. The open beta will include an all-new “Elimination” game mode as well as two new maps, Junk Yard and Castle. Players will be able to join in the open beta by visiting http://www.MicroVolts.com/

Hunt or be hunted! Starting this Thursday MicroVolts players can check out the new elimination style game mode.  Elimination is a team-based mode that rewards strategic, aggressive offense. When a player is killed, they’re out for the round! The Radar item spawns in the middle of the map at half-time. If a player grabs it they will be able to see every remaining enemy on the map. It’s a fight for map control!
Unlucky players who hang back will surely be eliminated, but if they are aggressive and push forward, they will be the eliminator!

The open beta will also feature two new maps for players to explore: a junkyard and a castle, and players who join in the open beta will be able to weigh in with their vote for the game mode that should be used for the game’s first open beta tournament.

“While we have been refining the game’s modes and maps that were included in the closed beta for MicroVolts, we have also been hard at work creating new content for the open beta with the elimination mode, new maps, and more yet to be revealed,” said Howard He, President of Rock Hippo Productions.  “Starting this Thursday players will have a lot of new content to enjoy and we are looking to them to tell us what game mode they most want to see as part of our first open beta tournament!”

MicroVolts features fast paced, third person shooter action and pits players against each other in a secret battle that has been waged and going unnoticed right in our own backyard for years.  No one knows for sure when or where the first toy declared war but rumor has it that the uprising began with four original limited edition figures, code named MicroVolts.  Battle lines were drawn when Naomi, Knox, Pandora, and C.H.I.P.-the prototypes -were soon joined by an endless number of modified versions. Now, toy figures around the world are engaged in an all-out war for valuable battery resources and supremacy of the Micro World.  All we can do now is stay out of their way and wait for a champion to be declared!
