Mortal Kombat Arcade Stick

Video games and violence go hand in hand these days and they are often third wheeled by that annoying anti-video game activism we often see in the media. Some of the older readers here may remember a time when Mortal Kombat dominated the news headlines with its gratuitous violence and over the top fatalities. It just so happened that the Mortal Kombat games were some of the most beloved among gamers who remember the 90s. Its time to rejoice and remember those fatality combinations once again though because Mortal Kombat 9 (or just Mortal Kombat) is coming back to next generation consoles!

Mortal Kombat 9 is set to take place after the events of Mortal Kombat Armageddon but is supposed to take the series back to its roots albeit with a face-lift. What better way to celebrate the return of this mega blockbuster than with the Mortal Kombat Arcade Stick pictured above? This arcade joystick set for the PS3 (there is also a variant for the Xbox 360) is cabinet style just like the good old days so you can open up its hallow interior and stow your other gaming gear inside.

Before you know it you will be doing bicycle kicks with Liu Kang, freezing your enemies with Sub Zero and shocking them with Raiden. Hell, with Shao Khan you can do all of them in a single fight! If the game is true to the developer’s words, it will be bloodier than ever which is all the better because the Mortal Kombat Arcade stick will make execution that much easier thanks to the full sized button and joystick layout. The arcade stick will help you to get those combos especially since the latest game takes it way back to a 2D fighting pane (3D graphics of course).

As you all have been waiting for, here is the latest hands-on review of the Mortal Kombat Arcade Stick. So when pictures just aren’t enough here is some live gameplay video of this beastly stick in action:
