Will Capcom Ever Make A New Resident Evil Outbreak?

By on June 4, 2010

By now we all know that Capcom has no plans to make File #3 for the Outbreak series of the Resident Evil universe, but in this age of gaming technology will they consider making another RE title with the same online design of the Outbreak games? Resident Evil Outbreak was the only game in the series to fully capture what online survival horror is supposed to be, with the only exception that there was no voice added to the game so you were unable to fully interact with the other 3 people playing with you.

The Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and even the Wii all have more than capable hardware to not only pull this off, but make it look very good at the same time. Unfortunately since they shut down the Outbreak US servers in December of 2007 no new news has come up about the future of that particular series despite cries from fans who desperately want File #3 to be developed. As of right now with the Resident Evil 5 gold edition packaged with the new DLC, The Darkside Chronicles for the Wii out there has actually been nothing new on any Resident Evil game in the media, so only time will tell.
