Ghost Recon Online will be free-to-play, beta coming this Summer

By on May 24, 2011

Ghost Recon was one of the best tactical FPS games and Ubisoft feels the need to milk the cow as much as they can. And although the next installment to the Ghost Recon series has been delayed to 2012, a new PC online game is coming this year. Ghost Recon Online is a fact and its beta phase will start this Summer. Yeap, you read it right. Check out a teaser trailer after the jump.

Ghost Recon Online will be a third person, free-to-play game. Tha game is being developed by Ubisoft Singapore, will feature a number of different classes and players will be able to upgrade and modify their weapons. The teaser trailer however is kind of disappointing as the game looks dumbed down and more arcade-ish. Yes, this is a free-to-play game but for Gods sake, what they’ve done to Ghost Recon? Seriously Ubisoft, this is NOT how you will attract and win PC gamers. This is not what made Ghost Recon famous.

Don’t believe us? Take a look at the teaser trailer. Ghost Recon fans, this is definitely a game to avoid. By all means!
