L.A. Noire Official OST & L.A. Noire: Remixed to be released on May 17th

By on May 9, 2011

Rockstar announced that two soundtrack albums will arrive on iTunes on May 17th. The first one will be L.A. Noire: Remixed, an album that will include six jazz tracks by some of today’s most acclaimed DJs and producers. The other one will be the Official OST that will feature the original orchestral score, along with modern takes on the  classical torch songs of the era.

According to the press release, the official soundtrack was inspired by the orchestral scores of the great films of the 1940s. This score is composed by Andrew Hale and Sweetback and was recorded in Abbey Road Studios. Additionally, the soundtrack also features modern takes on the classic torch songs of the period.

On the other hand, the L.A. Noire: Remixed is a result of Rockstar’s partnership with  Verve Records. As the title suggests, it features tunes from the game that are remixed. The soundtrack includes six jazz standards re-interpreted by acclaimed DJs, producers and remixers.

Both of them will be available on iTunes on May 17th -same day that the game will be released.
