Greetings, citizen’s of Old Lordaeron!   I’ve just got some quick news floating around the rumor mill about World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, the next expansion of the Blizzard’s uber-popular MMORPG.  Apparently, some of the major game retailers have placed Cataclysm on Pre-Order, which has violently stirred the rumor pot!  Conjecture about the expansion’s release date are running wild.

Everyone is looking back to Blizzard’s pattern of release dates.  Some point out that both of the previous expansions, The Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King were released 3 months after announcement of Pre-Order, which would place release date for April 2010.

Still others recall an 8-month span between the latest major content patch and expansion release.  For example, Patch 2.4 (Fury of the Sunwell) was released 8-months prior to Wrath of the Lich King.  Following this logic, we’ll be seeing Cataclysm in shelves come August or September.

I must say, though, that this is all pure conjecture.  If there’s anything I know for sure about Blizz, it’s that they play everything close to the chest.  We’ll find out when they want us to.  Also a surety, you WoW fans better pre-order, because I’m sure the lines are gonna be ridiculous that night.  No one wants to wait in line for 2 hours only to watch the last copy sell out when you’re but 3 steps away from the register!

That being said, I’m gonna roll a friggin’ Worgen.  Hopefully they come in shammy flavor.
