Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition PC Details Revealed – Online DRM, System Requirements & First PC Screenshots

By on May 26, 2011

Chris Svensson revealed yesterday on his blog, some juicy details about the PC version of Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition. According to Sven, SSF4AE for PC will feature Online DRM, 3 extra graphical effects, 3 framerate options and an implemented benchmark tool. Additionally, you will find after the jump some new PC screenshots.

Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition for PC will also support Nvidia’s 3D Vision. We should however focus on some of the afforementioned features. With regards to the 3 framerate options, Sven wrote:

“As with SFIV, there’s a benchmark that should be used by players to adjust settings to a level where they can consistently hit 60 fps.  What’s new though, is that the benchmark results will be used as one of the online matching criteria. That is to say, it will try to match players with good framerates with other players with good framerates, all other criteria being equal (and conversely it should match folks who don’t have proper settings or hardware with other folks who similarly haven’t made that point a priority). This should help to keep experiences consistent assuming enough people are in the matching pool at any particular moment.”

Street Fighter 4 was one of the most pirated games of 2009. And this time around, Capcom will try to minimize the pirate copies of this game by implementing an Online DRM. SSF4AE for PC will be making use of what is called GFWL SSA technology. This basically means that you will need to be online to enjoy Capcom’s fighting game. In case you run the game in offline mode, you’ll only have access to 15 of the 39 characters, you won’t be able to save any progress in challenges or settings and won’t have access to any DLC you’ve purchased.

If on the other hand you’re online and you temporarily lose your connection, you’ll be able to continue playing for a limited time or when you exit to the menu. You’ll be then asked to sign back in and if your connection is back online way before you try to exit to a menu, the game will continue without any issues at all.

As Sven stated, there isn’t any limit to the installations and there will be DLC content this time around. Furthermore, you can view bellow the game’s system requirements:
