Crysis 2 Security Updates Released

By on March 31, 2011

According to Crytek’s community manager, Cry-Tom, the company has just released the first security updates for the multiplayer mode of Crysis 2. Crysis 2 will be auto-updated with these security updates the next time you run it. Accounts that Crytek has identified as exploiting an unfair advantage have been reset and if the activity persists they will be banned permanently. Cry-Tom also stated that Crytek will keep updating their anti-cheat software in Crysis 2 and strive for a cheat-free community.

However, there have been a lot of reports about new cheaters even with these latest security updates. Cry-Tom stated that there may be some remaining issues that are unrelated to cheating (for example port/firewall settings, or other random connection issues). “Please don’t take the opportunity to harass people who may be having technical issues and calling them cheaters. The cheat protection will deal with cheaters, but not everyone having connection issues are having them in relation to anti-cheat.
” said Tom.
