Darkspore Closed Beta Begins Today

Maxis is happy to announce today the opening of a new closed beta for its upcoming online action RPG Darkspore! The game will be available to PC gamers on April 30, 2011, and Maxis is using the additional time to further balance and fine-tune the game, incorporating fan input, so that the game is just right when unleashed toward the end of next month.

Prospective gamers can experience Darkspore early by jumping into the new closed beta, which is now open and lasts through until 19.00 on Friday,April 1st. The beta is available exclusively on Steam, so if you have already an account you can click here to download it. In case you don’t, you can click here to download Steam. Following the simple instructions there, players will be battling the Darkspore with up to 4 people in co-op and enjoying the intense 1v1 or 2v2 PvP action the game has to offer in no time!
