Brand New Contra: Hard Corps Game Coming to Xbox 360 and Playstation 3

Well, kind of. You see there was this Contra game for the Genesis way back in 1994. It was a run and gun platformer and totally awesome. And now Konami is doing a “spiritual sequel” to the game called Hard Corps: Uprising. Here’s how it works. Das Reviews has crafted a nice math equation for you:

Contra Hard Crops - Contra + Anime + Online Play + HD = Hard Corps Uprising.

So aside from it not being called a Contra game, it pretty much is a Contra game. You run and shoot aliens and lots of stuff explodes. You die in one hit and break your TV when you put a controller through it. Yes, the game will have the standard one hit kill Contra fare but for all the ninnies that can’t handle the old school flavor, Konami is including a Rising Mode where you get three hits before you die.

Kids! When we were kids, we had to shoot aliens up hill both ways and we had no save points or passwords! And we liked it!

Hard Corps will drop in winter 2010.

PS. You have to wonder, will Konami include the most famous cheat code in history in Hard Corps: Uprising?
